The Regatta of Falmouth-by-the-Sea
TABLE OF CONTENTS
End of Scranton Ave. at the Falmouth Harbor Entran
Falmouth, MA 02540
The Regatta of Falmouth-by-the-Sea — at the entrance to Falmouth Harbor, with a busy 90-foot boat dock just outside the main dining room’s 18 windows — matches knockout views with superior offerings from the kitchen. A selection of ethnic dishes (spicy lacquered duck with Asian greens, Thai-style lobster and shrimp) rounds out an elegant Continental menu emphasizing regional fresh fish and shellfish. Signature dishes include rack of lamb en chemise, my vote for best dish on Cape Cod: tender lamb, chevre, spinach, and pine nuts in puff pastry, served with a Cabernet sauce. The elegant, contemporary look of the place, in tones of mauve, pink, and white, is accented by tables set with Limoges porcelain and hand-blown oil lamps. Regatta of Falmouth-by-the-Sea. Open May -Sept. season daily for lunch and dinner ($$$$). 217 Clinton Ave., Falmouth; 508-548-5400.
If you have only one indulgent fine dining-by-the-sea experience, make it this one. Sublime French and global cuisine, topped off by a decadent “chocolate seduction” for dessert. Three-course early dinners are the best bargain on Cape Cod. ($$-$$$$) Open for dinner Memorial Day-mid-Sept. daily. Also, the Regatta of Cotuit, Rte. 28, Cotuit; 508-428-5715. Open year-round nightly for dinner. WA.
