The Wellfleet Drive-In is the only drive-in movie on the Cape. And by day, it turns into a flea market! The Wellfleet shows first-run double features on its 100-foot screen every summer night. Complete with a snack bar, a playground, and a miniature golf course. Beer and wine is available, and the outdoor cocktail bar is open most nights in July and August. The Wellfleet also has an indoor cinema (open year round) with four screens that feature Dolby Digital Surround Sound. The cinema features matinees daily all summer. The Drive-In is open from Memorial Day through just a bit after Labor Day. For more information, call (508) 349-7176.

Shop by day for bargains at the flea market, which features about 200 dealers who spread their wares on open tables. Return after dark for first-run double features. With a dairy bar and grill on the premises, you won’t go hungry.

Open up the tailgate, turn up the radio, and wait for the sun to set. It’s not summer without a trip to the Cape’s only drive-in, where a concession stand, a play area, and a small restaurant with ice cream and mini-golf keep kids of all ages happy, even if the first-run flick doesn’t. Nightly double features late May-Columbus Day weekend beginning at dusk.
