Wilderness Inn Bed and Breakfast

Hosted by Michael and Rosanna Yarnell (both are skiers, canoeists, rock climbers, and avid travelers). A 1912 Craftsman-style inn with views of the mountains, forests, and the Lost River flowing behind the inn. Gourmet breakfast and complimentary afternoon tea are served. The inn is furnished with antiques and articles from the innkeepers’ world travels. Surrounded by the White Mountain National Forest, the inn is close to hiking trails and both downhill and cross-country skiing.

A lumber baron built this 1912 Arts & Crafts home within earshot of the Lost River. Now each guestroom evokes a stop on a world tour taken by its current owners, the Yarnells, when their children were young. Michael’s famous breakfasts are open to the public. Our favorite: apple crêpes with sour cream and chopped walnuts. Rates: from $95, including full breakfast.
