Dan Tobyne has been involved in photography for more than forty years.  Early in his career as a teacher of at-risk youth, he helped develop a wilderness education program that used photography as a behavior-modification tool.  He is an artist member of the Marblehead Arts Association and a member of the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, Massachusetts.  His work is featured in the books Boston’s Emerald Necklace, Thoreau’s Cape Cod, and Thoreau’s Maine Woods.  Tobyne lives with his family in South Hamilton, Massachusetts.

The following slideshow is a selection from his latest book, Scenic Maine Road Trips.  It represents his exploration of the diverse landscape along Maine’s oldest scenic byways from the rocky Down East coastline to the western mountains and northern forest and the rolling farmlands of Aroostook County.
