Champagne Strawberry Salad

by in Oct 2011

Total Time: 10

Yield: 4 servings

Forget mimosas. This sparkling (okay, slightly boozy) fruit dish is a very happy start to brunch.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries
  • 1-1/2 cups sparkling wine (such as Champagne,Prosecco, or Cava)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (optional)
  • 24 ounces plain or vanilla Greek yogurt (optional)

Instructions:

Hull strawberries and slice 1/4 inch thick. In a medium-size bowl, pour wine over strawberries and let sit 30—45 minutes (the longer they sit, the more potent they’ll be).
Taste strawberries for sweetness; add sugar if you like. Serve plain or over yogurt.
