Here's a wonderful recipe for entertaining -- Herbed Cheese Spread is easy to make ahead of time and always popular with guests. It is delicious served with whole-wheat or whole-grain crackers.

Ingredients:

  • 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, at room temperature
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried dillweed
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

Combine all the ingredients in a food processor and process until smooth. Spoon into a crock or bowl. Serve with crackers. This spread can be frozen for up to one month.
