Yield: Makes 4-1/2 dozen cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2-1/2 cups sifted flour

Instructions:

Mix shortening, salt, sugar, and vanilla. Add beaten eggs and mix together. Add flour and baking powder. Put teaspoons of batter on greased cookie sheet. Let stand for a few minutes and then flatten with a glass covered with a dampened cloth. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
